Around the Beacon

Here’s a SNEAK PEAK into my new collection of paintings!! I’m aiming to organise an exhibition with the theme ‘Around the Beacon’.

The idea for this has come about simply from a family walk! We had so much fun climbing over each stile; ducking, weaving and pushing past brambles; branches getting stuck in our hair; and stopping for a picnic at the top of the beacon and we did stop every now and then just to appreciate the views!! I want to recreate that fun time we had and bring you along so you feel like you are about to step into the painting, and join us on our family walk! We walked around St.Agnes Beacon, up to the top for the best panoramic view- to the south you can see Porthtowan, St.Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse and beyond. Inland you can see Carn Brea and Redruth; and to the north you can see Perranporth and Newquay. Then we headed down the cliff path past Wheal Coates, and ventured down to Chapel Porth. We stopped there for hedgehog ice creams and sat on the beach and watched the surf for a bit before heading back the road way. (The way back involves more moaning as its very hilly so I’ll make sure not to recreate that bit!)

I’m going to organise the exhibition for May time - that’s the plan anyway!! Here are some paintings I have done for it already - there’s still a lot of half finished ones I need to crack on with in the meantime!
